The health benefits of using these essential oil cleaning recipes in your home.

The health benefits of using these essential oil cleaning recipes in your home are probably something I could write about for years. It’s very well known that all the house cleaning products that you find at grocery stores and supercenters are made up of a variety if different types of chemicals, most of which I can not pronounce and I have no idea what they are. I too have been guilty of using them for years. Without much thought of what was in the bottles, if the label said “kills 98% of the flu virus, it went into my shopping cart. Running home childcare with little babies that seemed to put everything in their mouth, I was continually wiping down toys, high chairs and walls to keep germs at bay and keep everyone healthy.

What changed for me was potty training our daughter.  She had a little dora the explorer potty and I was wiping it down and cleaning it daily. After about a week of potty training her little bum cheeks were so red and hurting, not only that but her back was red with little bumps. So I took her to the doctor who told me it was the cleaning products giving her a reaction, That’s when I really started taking a serious look into chemical house cleaning products, what was in them and how they could be affecting our health.

Shortly after this reaction, I started looking into more natural and safe cleaning products. Through trial and error and spending lots of money at “health food stores” I’ve found some of the best cleaning products are one I make myself. So today I’m sharing with you the essential oil cleaning recipes that work for our family and my home childcare business and I hope you will give them a try

Let’s tackle the bathroom first because, in my house, I feel like it has the most germs. Our main floor bathroom can seem like a rotating door with so many kids, and let’s really be honest, sometimes the bowls miss the toilet bowl. I like to have a multi-purpose cleaner on the ready to wipe down the toilet seat, the side of the toilet or the tile floors.  The multi-purpose essential oil cleaning recipe I’m about to share with you also works great on walls, door knobs, handles on your fridge, stove and microwave

Essential oil cleaning recipe for a soft bathtub scrub

I like this soft scrub for our bathtub because it really brings out the shine of the bathtub and removes and hard water stains or bathtub rings. It’s also great at removing the gritty feeling after you have had a bathtub full of bubbles and the leftover bubbles kinda leave a chalking grit. You can make up this soft bathtub scrub with essential oils in a large batch by doubling or tripling the recipe.

Deodorizer for your smelly carpets

When it gets hot and humid out, I find the carpet in our house smells a bit musty. It drives me crazy and I’m embarrassed by this. For a quite fix, this deodorizer for your carpet will work in a pinch until you can do a proper carpet shampooing. With home childcare, our carpets take a beating, Our carpets have seen it all, dog vomit, kid vomit, urine, mud, juice, the list goes on. My little green machine has been my lifesaver for these incidences.

A super powerful vacuum

#2- for heavy smelling carpets I would do this overnight. Before you go to bed, apply a thin layer of baking soda and essential oils over your smelly carpet and let it sit 8+ hours while you sleep

#3 vacuum up the baking soda in the morning.

I really love my Dyson vacuum. It has really held up over the last 7+ years I’ve own it. I use it almost 3-5 times a week to clean up dog hair, sparkles from craft time etc.. It pulls so much dirt out of my carpets, it really does do a deep down clean and I feel much better using this vacuum and gettingbeloww the surface.
